The West Virginia Veterinary Medical Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life of animals and people.
The West Virginia Veterinary Medical Foundation, WVVMF, was established as an arm of the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, WVVMA, in 2003. Members of the Foundation include WVVMA members and their spouses.
The mission of the Foundation is to improve the quality of life of animals and people in the state of West Virginia through student scholarship and public education. During the initial years the main goal of the Foundation was to build a financial base to work from in the future. Through the generous donations from members and the general public the Foundation has assets greater than $60,000. Unless otherwise specified the funds collected are placed in a perpetual account where only the income earned from the fund may be spent.

In recent years the Foundation has helped fund the Annual West Virginia Veterinary Career Day that is co-sponsored with the West Virginia University Davis-Michael Scholars Program. The Foundation also maintains a Memorial Card Program for veterinarians/clinics who would like to participate. The Foundation is able to accept monetary donations to further its purpose from members, private citizens, and businesses.
An annual meeting for the Foundation is held immediately preceding the annual WVVMA annual meeting. Any member is encouraged to attend and participate in the planning of the Foundation’s future activities.
