During this session, Dr. Kellie Hough (USDA APHIS Veterinary Services) will provide an overview of animal health emergencies and  two important high consequence foreign animal diseases – foot and mouth disease (FMD) and African swine fever (ASF).  Additionally, Dr. Hough will outline what happens during a foreign animal disease outbreak and how accredited veterinarians can assist in emergency preparedness and response activities.
